Final Fylde League Update
14 September 2022- The firsts finished their season with a 2 2 draw at home to Leyland. A solid 3rd place finish with 27.5 points.
- The seconds got a 22 draw at Home (again) to Norbreck.
- The fourths lost 40 away against an experienced Longton side after experiencing chaos in the M6 trying to get there.
- Bowerham got stuck in the other direction to face the 3rds and the Lytham lads took advantage and got a 31 win.
- The fifths finished 8th with 15 points.
- However, due to the rain, the 2nds had 2 more results to play. They, unfortunately, lost 40 in both against 2 strong teams (Away to Fairhaven and Home to Thornton) finishing the season in 5th with 12 points.
- The fourth team had a bit of drama in their final game. Captain Ed, after testing negative for corona in the morning, did a final pre match check, found he’d turned positive and drafted in young Leo with 10 minutes to spare. Not tired from an earlier game and cycle ride he helped his team mates secure a 22 draw at home to Leyland with great tennis all round and epic crowd support. They finish the season 6th on 17 points.
- The 3rds lost 40 away at an incredibly strong, Fulwood side.
- They then finished the last rubber of the season where they needed 3 points to win against Broughton. It took them 4! They finish in 6th place with 22 points.
