American Tournament May 22nd 2022

On Sunday May 22, we hosted another well attended American tournament. 28 participants, even numbers of men and women! We had to use the mini court as two sharp showers left the grass slippy.
However, the grass soon dried up and we could use more grass as the afternoon went on.
Rachel Smith and Jonny Miller got the much sought after Wooden Spoon/Fruit Shoot prize which just shows how competitive American tournaments are as both players finished higher last time with Jonny actually gaining a silver medal on opening day!
The tournament winners were Sue Hudson, who won most points overall, and Chris Wilson who won the men’s side, adding another title to his collection after last winter’s singles league. Silver medallists Pat Booth and Tobias Morris gratefully shared his prize. A J20 and a Twix were the prizes given as a way to celebrate Novak Djokovic’s Birthday (Novak Djokotwix?!)
An enjoyable afternoon from all! Looking forward to the next one.
